W.H.O. Recent technological evolutions, globalization, and anticipated market circumstances have crucial clashes on manufacturing sector. As a result, continuous changes are being made in machine and manufacturing system known as industrial revolution. If we talked about the first revolution, it was around 17th century in which the power of steam engine was used in place of human power. The second revolution took place around 19th century AD as shown in figure 1, in which electrical powered machines were used. That time, Dedicated Manufacturing system (DMS) was being used for mass production . Fig.1 Development stages of industrial revolution (https://goo.gl/images/KHJ5uF) Engine, transmission parts, main components of automobiles was produced through dedicated transfer line. In other words, in DMS product variety is less and product volume is very high. As the time of third revolution (e.g. 1960), manufacturing sector was struggling wit...

SEXUAL OFFENCES AND NEED OF GENDER NEUTRAL LAWS

From the past few decades the approach of sexual violence in human rights has focused basically on the abuse of women and girls. But in the meantime sexual offences against men and transgender has increased a lot in prisons and also in other places. The criminal laws in India relating to rape has always been gender specific in which men have always been the perpetrator and women is always the victim of sexual offences. The Justice Verma Committee (2013) which was formed after the famous Nirbhaya gang rape case, recommended gender neutral laws with respect to sexual offences and also the victims. However, ignoring this Government passed criminal law amendment act, 2013 without these much needed reforms. For the last few decades, the common approach to sexual violence has focused mainly on women as a victim. Given that men are usually conceptualized as the sexual aggressor or the perpetrator, however, there has been a growth in research examining male victims’ experiences of the crimi...

CONSTITUTIONAL ADJUDICATION BY THE SUPREME COURT

The Apex Court has now shifted to panchayati eclecticism which is result oriented and thus depends on the whims and fancies of different benches in the Supreme Court. My disagreement is that as constitutional adjudication affects varied aspects of people in different capacities therefore there can be no fixed or rigid rules of interpretation. While the historical interpretation leans on the meaning at the time of the framing of the Constitution and textual interpretation depends on the present sense of the text. I believe an attempt should be made to read the provisions not only in their original social and linguistic context but in its modern context or in a way that mediates between the two. The current phase of the Supreme Court gives the language of the Constitution a liberal construction so as to include within its ambit future developments than in restricting the language to the state of things existing at the time of passing of the Constitution.  Trans formative constit...

Status of Women in Ancient India

Evidences are available about the worship of the mother goddess in the ancient Indus valley civilization of India. At that time mother was worshipped. Women had respectable place within the society during the Rig Vedic period. The success of religious ceremonies has earned them respect. Young girls' education has been seen as a significant marriage qualification. In Vedic literature, there are references that in the Kshatriya society , women were entitled to choose their own life partner, known as 'Swayamvara.' The dowry system had been unknown in Rig Vedic society. The idea of marriage as a gift has, however, been prevalent. Monogamy was the common norm of society and during this period Bigamy was still in norm, but it was only in the aristocratic classes. In her house of laws the wife had been valued. The woman had engaged in her husband's sacrificial offerings. [1] However, since the son performed the last rites and continued the succession, the women were expect...
