Green Consumption : The Next frontier
“Green marketing”, “Ecological marketing”, Environmental marketing ’ “eco friendly products” are the buzzwords, that are comprehended of societal marketing, with an aim for sustainable environment . But only green process, green production, green packaging & green buying will never take us to ideal goal i.e zero waste. Through an analysis on product life cycle, it is observed that there is a significant portion of negative impact of consumption on environment. Consumers’ positive attitudes toward eco-friendly products and services will not serve the whole purpose. Rather, along with the green initiative taken by government and industries, consumers also need to adapt responsible behavior for example -If a tooth paste is herbal & green, but if consumer leaves the water running while brushing the teeth, just green manufacturing and green packaging won’t help. Consumers must make sure that consumption must be responsible as well, then only we will be able to reach at the goal...
