APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY FOR SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Appropriate technology is most basic and simplest technology to achieve the intended purpose with limited available resources. For developing nations like India, with huge population residing in rural areas; appropriate technology is boon for the society. This technology is basically labour-intensive technology rather than depending on energy-based technology. Technology basically employs use of locally available material and natural resources as input. This technology is best option for the rural infrastructural development, energy production, distribution, rural road construction, water supply and sanitation.
