What is Stress? Stress is the psychological, physiological, and behavioral response by an individual when they perceive a lack of equilibration between the expectation placed upon them and their ability to meet those expectations and challenges, which over a period of time, leads to ill health. Stress and Stressors • Stress: Anindividual's response to a situation that are threatening or challenging. • Stressor: A stimulus that causes stress.
