THE TRANSGENDER- is a term which is assigned to a person whose gender presentation reflects inconsistency with the sex allotted to him at the time of his birth that it defies the orthodox belief of what it meant to be female or male. The realization about the existence of third gender i.e trans genders is neoteric in India but they have been a part of Indian culture since its inception. The Vedic literature recognized their identity with the name of tritiyaprakati. And they had huge respect in vedic society. There was a belief in that era that using of their mahal’s sand for making home would lead prosperity and positivity in a family. They were that much esteemed. However, it’s disquieting that living in the ultra modern era our rational capability deteriorating with the time towards the concept of humanity and equality.
