Preparing for future in Pandemic

Si vis pacem, para bellum This quote from the book “ Epitoma Rei Militari” by a Roman General Vegetius means “ If you want peace prepare for war ”. These are golden for us to have a peaceful future and win the war against COVID19. Before the fall of Roman Empire, Vegetius noticed that the quality of its army had begun to deteriorate. He noticed that due to long period of peace, army was idle and had stopped wearing protective armour. This made the army-men vulnerable to enemy weapons and lowered their morale to face the enemy in a battle. Just like Romans, are we also heading towards a down-fall? Are we preparing ourselves for the upcoming future challenges? It’s time, we start finding answers to these pinching questions. The war with COVID is going to last much longer than it was expected. The studies say that by March 2021 India will have more than 2.5lakh cases per day. If it is believed to be true, we may not see, a return to normal life soon. This will directly ...

Self-Leadership is a Root

Leadership is defined as a broader term but the base of leadership is Self-Leadership. Leading others is much easier, but task to achieve is leading your own self in the way you want. We all live in stigma of delusion when it comes about our own life. Since the day we born we are taught to see others and learn, take inspirations and decide about life. My question is Do we need others to decid e our life? Do we need second person to inspire us. Yes, I agree we can take suggestion but decision must be taken by our self & we can only take decision at certain point of life when THE LEADER INSIDE US BECOMES ACTIVE. Self-Leadership is defined as natural skill, in some people it is suppressed & some are blessed with it since childhood. This skill can be enhanced slowly & gradually. Writs: A Conceptual Analysis

A writ is formal legal order issued by government authorities , mostly by the courts to do a particular duty or to refrain from doing something ultra-virus/illegal. Initially it was given or issued by the sovereign of a country or by the king of a state in the form of letters. In present situation when we talk about Indian Constitution, writs are very well covered under it and are part of our Constitution. Impact of Covid 19 on Crude Oil Prices

At present, lock down prevails in most part of the world. As soon as lock down ends, financial markets will start afresh. Crude oil prices for the first time in history becomes US $0 per barrel. The price of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude futures contract of May expiry were negative US$39 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange on April 20, 2020. Brent crude oil prices too followed the same track. There   were large production cut by the OPEC+ countries. But unfortunately, there stiff action does not increase the crude oil prices.   Following are the reasons for free fall in crude oil prices:   1. There is very little demand of crude oil all over the world and the supply of crude oil is very high. Moreover, there is economic uncertainty and hence there is a free fall in domestic and external demand of crude oil.   2. Global trade, both export and import, reduces to a great extent. Consequently, there is a fall in production.   3. Even ...

The Crux of Life

“What is Life”, a small girl sitting next to me asked with a perplexed expression on her face. I ignored the question first being occupied with some college work. She asked the same question again. This time the voice was stronger, more curious and so I was forced to answer it. “Life is a gift of the almighty and so must be cherished in all aspects”, I explained. This question inspired me to explore further and further and I came across several aspects of it. Life can be as fragile as a glass or as hard as climbing a mountain, can be a cakewalk for some and can be a rocky terrain for others, can be full of happy moments, can be really saddening. The purpose of life is subjective and is defined basis several factors. Once a successful person would have defined it as a beautiful kaleidoscope of colourful moments and joyful memories and the same person would have defined it as a black foggy and unclear path. Today, when the whole world is dealing with a deadly pandemic and people have lo...
