Sex Ratio and Haryanvi Culture

The sex ratio situation in Haryana according to the 2011 census was certainly alarming. There were only 879 girls behind 1000 boys. The main reason for this was infanticide. At that time people were ignoring or deliberately not wanting to see the far-sighted consequences of such murders. In the coming times, when it was difficult for boys to get married, people warned. At the time of marriage, where boys used to get good dowry, all the equations changed. Now the boys had to spend money for marriage. Haryanvi boys were married to girls from other states like Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Bengal and Bihar etc. Boys who settled with their wives or who were kept lovingly settled in their homes, many girls also came out who went back to their villages after taking money from home. The boys' homes were settled by the parents by spending money. But failed to preserve their culture and language. Food and drink, customs, customs, everything changed. Girls coming from other states abolished th...

Green GDP

Green GDP is a word coined as a GDP after the compensation of environmental damages. Due to climate change losses in biodiversity takes place and depletion in available resources takes places. The accountability of using natural resources is to be determined and factors likes water and air pollution and flood needs to be considered. The economic development of country can’t be measured only on the basis of economic progress, an essential constituent named as ecological development needs to be measured by analytical analysis of environment wealth state wise. Self-Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a word which is often characterized by the use of a beautiful swinging pendulum by a professional applied on the person to whom he/she wants to control. We usually consider hypnosis as a negative impactful activity performed in order to do what we don’t do in general and what we don’t accept in our conscious state of mind. But hypnosis is different than what we perceive. Hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind; actually very relaxed with heightened imagination. It is state where we immerse ourself completely in the pool of situations around us. During hypnosis, our conscious mind gets dominated by our subconscious state. Thus, whatever we do, whatever we speak, it is not coming from our moulded, furnished and coated conscious mind, rather it is coming from an uncontrolled, uncovered and deep insight. The most useful form of this hypnosis is Self-hypnosis. Self-hypnosis is hypnotizing oneself by our own. It doesn’t need any second person to do the hypnosis for you. You ...

DEATH ON THE ISLAND: A WAKE-UP CALL.

With the recent death of the American missionary on the isolated Sentinel Island in the Andaman island leaves us to introspect on the various aspect of human behavior;   behavior of the reclusive islanders and the island visitors. The American missionary had intended to visit the island so that he could introduce the indigenous people to Lord Jesus as he believed that the place was fit for “Satan” as Lord Jesus could not reach there. It leaves us with two questions: The approach to the Sentinel island is fueled by the curious nature to discover and unearth the ‘other’ or is to better the ‘other’? In both the circumstances there is an inherent sense of abject superiority as a race which is quite similar to the attitudinal behaviors of the colonizers throughout history. In the quest of knowing the unknown or the ‘other’ the community is discovered, invaded, plundered and in turn exterminated. This is a gradual process and does not look oppressive in the beginning as it is ofte...

Climate Justice and International Solar Alliance

Climate change in the 21 st century is a matter of grave concern, not only for the developing nations but also for developed nations. The most visible signs of changing climate are the melting glaciers, higher frequency and intensity of hurricanes and cyclones as well as droughts in different parts of the world etc. Climate change doesn’t affect one nation. Rather, humanity as a whole is responsible for bringing it about as well as aggravating it with every passing moment. There is an irony to this entire situation- that is the developing countries are solely blamed for bringing about climate change. In reality, however it’s the developed countries that share a higher burden in the historical level of greenhouse gas production because of their unprecedented levels of economic activity that has made them stand at the highest pedestal of standard of living and per capital income. In the recent climate change negotiations, Common But Differentiated Responsibility (CBDR) , a princip...

Disruption: The new normal ????

Disruption is the new normal. The term disruption sounds familiar to our ears now but it wasn’t that famous way back in 1997 when renowned HarwardBusiness School Professor Mr. Clayton M Christensen tossed the term Disruptive Innovation in his book ‘The innovator’s dilemma’. He described Disruptive Innovation as something innovative that a company does, either in its business model or with its offerings, at the low-end of any market. Once it is able to mark its strong presence there, then it moves up the ladder and challenges the other prominent players in the segment. As per Christensen, a disruptive innovation starts as an experiment early and then heads towards making the current business model obsolete. Disruption is also not confined or limited to large corporations only. It can be easily exercised by small/new companies. He also described the difference between disruptive innovation and sustainable innovation. While the later focuses on improving the existing products, the f...
