USE OF AIR CONDITIONER IN THE WAKE OF COVID 19 PANDEMIC
In
the outbreak of COVID 19, all of us are very concerned for the use of AC (Air
Conditioner) as the summer season has commenced and AC use is essential
especially in tropical countries like India. Most people are in panic regarding
the use of AC. People have gone into more tension when the Punjab Government
brought the pilgrims from Nanded Sahib in Maharashtra by AC bus and many have
been affected by COVID 19 virus.
Well,
there are some guidelines while using AC. If these are followed well then there
is no problem. The guidelines are as follows:
- Centralized AC will lead to
spread of COVID 19 virus and that is why the Government has closed all
public gathering places like shopping malls, movie theatres, restaurants,
bars, pubs, spa, etc.
- Split AC and window AC which
are present in almost every household does not help in spreading the virus
as it has a standalone compressor unit and hence there is no chance of
spreading the virus.
- For maintaining safety, the
temperature in AC should be maintained between 240C to 300C
and a little bit of ventilation should be there through windows so that is
some interference with outside air.
If
these points are taken care of, then there is no chance of spread of COVID 19
by air conditioners.
