First law of motion ( Inertia)

When any object move, then how many types of laws will exist comes in the category of laws of motion. Inertia- Inherent property of body means- not change by self So if the body at rest, then it cannot change its position by itself. When an external force is applied then the object will change its position and when object is in motion, again we have to apply a force to stop it. Inertia in linear motion depends on the mass of the object. Inertia is proportional to the mass of the object.

There are three types of Inertia-

1) Inertia of rest- means when the body is at rest will remain at rest, it will not

change its position without any external force applied to it.

2) Inertia of motion- means when the body is in motion, will remain in motion,

it is not able to change its condition of motion.

3) Inertia of direction- means when a body is moving in some particular

direction cannot change its direction and keep on moving in the same

direction.

So an agent which is known as force to change the condition of the body which is

at rest or in motion or moving in the same direction.

First law of motion explains the definition of force which is important to change

the inertia of an object.

Force is an important phenomenon which changes the condition of motion.
