Enforcement Of Fundamental Rights During  covid-19

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the country and its citizens have faced a lot of problems in all spheres of life. The ongoing Pandemic throughout the globe has created a perfect turbulence by affecting not any but every sphere of life and causing harm to human life at an unprecedented rate. The most primary risk is about the health of people along with loss of economy leading its effects to the socio-political status of the country. The covid-19 pandemic has affected everyone, from rural to urban citizens, from factory workers to entrepreneurs, so on and so forth. To understand the fallout of Covid-19 beyond the issue of public health in India, one of the most certain challenges that are faced are the enforcement of the fundamental rights of the citizens. To begin with, it is essential to understand the importance of a citizen’s fundamental rights. As Dr B R Ambedkar has said, the fundamental rights are the most imperative part of the constitution. There are a few particular rights which are planned and adopted from the US constitution to protect the dignity of the individuals and further help them to live in a democratic, a just and a secular way. They are created to essentially protect the liberties and rights of people and to avoid the infringement of power that can be misused by the government. Such rights help to maintain law and order and not the rule of a man. Fundamental Rights aim to protect the liberties of a country’s citizens and to prevent autonomy or dictatorship rule in the country. Such rights are centric to the holistic development of both, the people and the country with its government. Similarly, the Constitution of India regulates the Fundamental human rights for India. It not only entails values and virtues but also a legal value to protect the citizens of India. After understanding the important role of Fundamental Rights, it is of no doubt that the bureaucracy of both, the central and the state governments have been very dedicated in fighting the pandemic in solidarity with its citizens, for the betterment of each and everyone. By living in the midst of the pandemic, the decisions of the government such as nationwide lockdown, social distancing, installing the Aarogya Setu application has been met with wide support.
