POST EFFECTS & RECOVERY OF COVID – 19

It’s been more than 85.5lakhs cases which have been reported in India till now and will continue to increase.  But the good news is that the recovery rate touched 90% of total affected cases.

Earlier, everyone has ignored about the post effects of COVID- 19, as it was more important to manage the COVID patients but now the officials are concerned about the post effects of COVID-19 as people are recovering with many other problems after COVID-19.

Though COVID-19 is a virus that affects the lungs, in a smaller subset, but it is also found to have an impact on the lungs, heart and brain, increasing the risk of long-term health issues, and life-threatening complications.  This is a disease with number of mysteries as compared to other respiratory disease and it leads to decrease in immunity, long-term fatigue, headache, vertigo, etc.  Out of these, fatigue including muscle pain and weakness is the most common post effect of COVID-19 which maximum patients are facing after their recovery from this disease.

To recover from this fatigue and weakness, the patients should opt for protein rich diet which may include cottage cheese, sprouts, eggs, milk, chicken, tofu, protein powder etc.  They should also include light exercise in their routine on a regular basis which can include brisk walk, and perform Pranayama (kapal-bhati, anulom-vilom etc.) on a regular basis.
