Innovative information about BH Series

Bharat Series (Bharat Series) or BH Series (BH Series) number plates were introduced by the central government in the country last year. The registration of this series has started from September last year. The motive behind introducing BH series number plates is to ensure that the owner of a non-cargo vehicle having such number plate does not have to apply for a new registration plate on moving to another state. This will be extremely helpful for those who have a job for which they have to shift frequently to different parts of the country.

What is the rule?

Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act allows the owner of a vehicle to drive his vehicle in another state for more than 12 months. After 12 months, the owner has to transfer the registration of the vehicle to the new state where it is being driven or kept. At such times BH series number plate owners will be at ease, as there will be no need to transfer the registration from the original state to the new state.

The BH number plate is similar in appearance to the regular number plate - black letters on a white background. But unlike traditional number plates, BH series plates begin with two digits, followed by BH, then four digits, and then two letters. For example, if you want to read a BH series number plate, think of it like this. 21 BH 0756 AA - It means the vehicle was registered in the year 2021, 'BH' is for India, '0756' is vehicle registration number and 'AA' is for vehicle category. The BH number plate is valid across the country and gives a hassle-free driving and ownership experience to the vehicle owner. The vehicle owner does not have to pay for new registration in case he has settled in any other state. And there is no hassle of any paperwork.
