Doing marketing
on a digital platform is called “DigitalMarketing”. It is basically promoting and advertising a business online
through different channels like social media such as e-mail, mobile
applications, websites etc. Digital marketing has resulted as a great and
successful tool for both small and large-scale businesses. This is a type of
marketing which is categorized into different digital marketing types depending
upon the type of business and the strategies adopted. This can be divided as

Media Marketing: Promoting
business on different social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram,
LinkedIn, Twitter etc.
2. E-Mail
Marketing: Sending out e-mails to many
different groups of people for promotion purposes.
3. Search
Engine Optimization (SEO): Optimizing
search engines (like Google) to derive traffic to websites using different SEO
techniques such as using different keywords.

Engine Marketing (SEM): Increasing
a business’s presence on different websites by paid advertising.
5. Content
Marketing: Creating and
posting relevant content which sticks to the goal and the idea of business.
Such as blogs, video content etc.
6. Pay-Per
Click Advertising (PPC): It is a
type of marketing where the advertiser pays money to the publisher, each time
someone clicks on the ad posted.
7. Affiliate
Marketing: A marketing type which is
based on the performance of the marketer promotes products or services of some
other business and earns commission or other benefits.
Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic hit in, digital
marketing has risen rapidly. Almost every business venture is going online.
Digital marketing is a much less risky marketing type than the physical
marketing because it requires minimal capital investment with maximum business growth
(if only correct marketing strategies are adopted and optimized to the
fullest).
Talking about the minimal capital investment, digital
marketing is done in both organic and paid ways which is another catchy feature
of it.
ORGANIC
MARKETING: The organic marketing on
social media platforms means that the owner does not need to invest or pay the
money for the promotion of their product/service. Such type of Social Media Marketing
(SMM) is usually for the building of brand. Initially for every business
start-up online, organic marketing is quite suitable. Generally, people move
towards the paid marketing for their business expansion but presently, organic
marketing is suggested for the start-ups and many small-scale businesses.
PAID MARKETING: The paid marketing is based on the investment means
some amount of money is paid in order to get the company’s product/service
promoted. This technique is the advanced way of marketing when compare with
organic marketing. In this, the owner has to pay a fixed amount for each post
related to the product which they wish to promote. Hence, it is concluded that
this is the era of digital marketing.
