Online Classes &COVID-19

Due to COVID-19 all the educational institutes were closed across the country. Thus, the Indian educational system moved away from conventional classrooms to virtual classroom. The students as well as faculties were not prepared for online classes. They had to adjust quickly to start with digital classes.

Online classes have its own benefits like the students are better able to concentrate in Online classes as compared to conventional classrooms, they do not have to wake up in the morning to reach the school or college. Travelling time has reduced. They are able to sit at home comfortably, can spend time with the family and attend classes conveniently.

But the students are facing many problems while attending online classes such as connectivity issues. In India, there are around 630 million internet users and has world's second-biggest web client base. In this case also, connectivity is as yet an issue. The students are not able to attend the classes as there is internet issue either from faculty side or from their side. It is also being found that there is low attendance in online classes as students are not able to access the classes due to non-availability to gadgets or the web. They didn't get an opportunity to charge the battery of the phone because of the long length of classes.

Our country is not fully prepared to make digital education available in all corners. In this uncertain time, there is need to have robust measures in the education sector.
