Rest In Peace (RIP)
We have often seen that as soon as the news of
anyone's death comes, most people starts writing “Rest in Peace (RIP)“, on
social media without knowing its true meaning without understanding the true
feeling.
This term is used for those who are buried in
the grave. Because according to Christian or Muslim beliefs whenever
"Judgment Day" or "Day of Judgment" will come, on that day
all the dead lying in the grave will be revived. So it has been said for them
But according to the beliefs of Hinduism, the
body is mortal, Soul is immortal. Because the Hindu body is burnt, so there is
no question of his "Rest in Peace" to Hinduism, as soon as a human
dies, the soul leaves and enters another new creature / body / newborn. In
order to give momentum to that soul for the next journey, the tradition of “Shraddhaa”
is performed and peace is conducted.
So for any Hindu spirit "Humble
tribute" or "Grant peace to the soul" as syntax is written or
should be written.

ReplyDeleteThis is a very subjective topic. No body knows what is right and there are different traditions, different rituals among Hindus also. Yet, I support the author's view point.
ReplyDeleteWhen you pray for someone your feelings matter not the way you express and ofcourse it is a subjective issue.
