Life after Corona virus and role of Artificial Intelligence

On 24 March 2020, Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days, limiting movement of the entire 130 crore population of India as a preventive measure against the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

Now the corona virus has changed how we work, play and learn, schools, colleges are closed, sports leagues have been canceled, and many people have been asked to work from home. Government of India also released new guidelines time to time to slow down the spread of the corona virus, including closing schools, college, malls, bars, restaurants and food courts etc and ask to use mask & maintain Social distance everywhere.

All of us are now in fear of Corona Virus and now thinking how to deal with these sudden and dramatic changes. Artificial Intelligence can help us a lot in life with Corona and after Corona.

In this Pandemic Artificial intelligence applications can help us lot in humanitarian and disaster relief, disease control etc. Many such application have been developed including Arogya Setu by Central government to connect essential health services with the people of India to fight against COVID-19 and many other applications by state governments and private companies world vide. Artificial Intelligence applications can also be used to identify and track the different category patients.

We also can develop some online applications which can help to test & diagnose the virus based in initial symptoms. Same application can also recommend the initial steps to be taken if someone found positive and to whom to contact, how to process healthcare claims etc.

We can develop Robots (Intelligent Agents), as they are manmade machines and have no risk to be infected with virus, these robots can be deployed to perform many tasks like cleaning, sanitization, delivering food and medicines to infected patients.

So for next few upcoming years we will have to live with risk of Corona virus which will also give some opportunities in many sectors. We will have to rethink about many sections like Public Health, Public distribution, transport, Education etc. Artificial Intelligence application can play a big role in future developments.
