PRODUCTIVE IDEAS TO DO DURING LOCK DOWN

The entire world is on the verge of lockdown. Countries after countries are falling for the global pandemic of coronavirus. Government authorities are telling people to distance themselves socially to help prevent the spread of the deadly virus. The Prime Minister of our country also urged people to stay indoors as much as possible and maintain social distancing. So, what can you do during your time at home? Here I am sharing with you all ten things you can do while you maintain social distancing at your home.
‌1 - Read Books: - This is one of my favorites and that is why let’s start with the books you can read during this time. Thanks to our busy life, assignments, lectures, daily grind at our workplace, we miss out on the hoard of reading that we can do. Reading not only helps our mental muscles to work better, but it also helps sharpen our worldview. Understanding this, a lot of companies across the world have made reading easier and affordable for people too. SCRIBD is one of the examples which you all can subscribe to and can get access to around 30 Million eBooks.
‌2 - Build your Profile: - It is probably the best time to build your profile. Now, that you are going to have some time to spare beyond your daily grind, you can devote it to online courses, completing online certifications, apply for a home internship, get into research writing, social media marketing and whatever interests you beyond academics. The more you learn, the more you prepare yourself for the future.
‌3 - Time for picking a new Hobby: - Along with creating an impressive profile, this is the right time for you to pick up a new hobby. A new language, an unknown subject, learning to bake cakes, picking up online guitar lessons, whatever makes you the happiest. Take up something and follow diligently. Who knows, by the end of it, you might rethink your career choice.
‌4 - Look for your Creative Side: - Have you always looked at your favorite YouTuber and thought that you might have done a better job than him. Well then give it a shot. It is supremely easy to create your channel and create video content in the age of smartphones. If not YouTube, you can express yourself by writing a blog or just by simply writing a journal. Bring that creative side of yours and start creating.
5 - Take up remote projects and nail it.: - If you are someone who can't think beyond work that kicks you every day, take up new challenges. You can go online and based on your skills look for freelanced remote opportunities. Take up a remote project and work on it giving your best. Before you even know it, this project might become the strongest point of your CV.
‌6 - Network and build contacts:- Build your contacts online, research about your dream companies, connect with people on social media and networking websites like LinkedIn, get noticed by recruiters, discuss new projects with entrepreneurs, set up video meetings with potential clients and investors, build your product and pitch it. There is no end to what you can do during this time.
‌7 - Remain updated: - It is time to keep yourself updated with the ongoing events in your country and the world. Fill views on your world and domestic politics, form your opinions, make informed choices related to your future career prospects. Above all, don't fall for foul words. Read and make an informed choice, especially during these trying times
‌8 - Get fit: - We understand, your favorite morning walk and gym sessions are cooked. But there is a lot you can do to keep yourself fit during social distancing. Opt for yoga, do light exercise at the home start the diet that you always wanted to but couldn't because of your crazy work schedule. Take brisk walks in your home, you might end up forming a habit that will continue beyond this distancing
‌9 - Reflect on your mental health: - An equally important factor for staying for you need to be mentally at ease during this phase. This is probably the best time to sit back and reflect on yourself. Using the break, you can reflect on yourself, analyze your mental health and engage in activities that give you the most satisfaction.
‌10 - Get in touch with your friends and family: - Don't let that old school friend tell you anymore "You don’t even call us". Use this time to reach out to all those friends and family members whom you have distanced yourself from for your regular daily schedule. Spend some quality time with your family, enjoy home-cooked food, and reduce some of the personal distancing during this social distancing.
