MOOC’s
MOOC’s
stands for Massive online open courses. MOOC’s are based upon the phenomenon of
compounded study with timing without any barrier. Basically in year 2008 when
the industry oriented courses became in demand and standardization as well as accreditation
of regular traditional courses became popular, the MOOC’s came in existence.
Reason for opting the MOOC’s is to achieve the determined goal of study without
any timeline as well as without limited resources. This also remove the
restriction of age of study and type of study, simply means that anyone at any
age at any time from any location can study and get certified as well in any
discipline.
Students
from typical rural area’s were not capable to pay and stay somewhere to learn
from experienced faculty members, due to advancement of technology and systemic
upgradation now it is feasible that they can study at their native places. One
of the more realistic problem were there in education system that after a
particular age people want to study some latest topics but due to hesitation
they do not want to physically appear with the students of their child’s age.
Now this boundary is vanished they just study in free time of their whatever
their choice of course. The challenge of copping up with pace of
trainer/teacher is also a challenge in any kind of study due to different
mental strength of human mind. Now due to this MOOC the repeat leaning can be
done and proper understanding can be established. Supposedly another challenge
in education system is hesitation is asking the doubt but now the interaction
is established through virtual mode inspite of physical one it is bit easy to
ask any no. of doubt at any point of time.
Teaching and
learning are sometimes supposed as one but they are not. Teaching is an
abstract overview of someone established learning which may or may not be
appropriately complete enough. While leaning is a continuous approach to fetch
out the information relevant information and upgrade the knowledge related to
the topic. Primarily the inbound teaching methodology keep the students spoon feeded while now the
students needs the learning approach to extract information from the scratch
themselves.
Popular
MOOC’s platform are Coursera, Udacity, edx, Udemy, Swayam and many more. Now
another partnership based and collaborative ventures like Khan academy came
into pictures. Many industries like Google, Yahoo, IBM and many universities of
repute like Stanford, Berkley, Texas and Califormia are now part of this
education segment.
“MOOC’s are
now the key to learn beyond any Boundary”
Nice approach Sir.
