Internet of Things: A consumer Perspective

The term “Internet of Things” (IoT) refers to the system of connecting daily use appliance to the Internet and remotely communicate through web application from anywhere in the world. This approach enables wide-ranging applications in the areas of health care, industrial automation, transportation, home and building automation, smart cities, emergency response to natural and man-made disasters, smart grid and energy management. The vision behind IoT is in fact to interconnect objects directly to each other with the help of the Internet and allow them to provide information directly to the web without any intermediation of the human. This vision of IoT application will have a great impact on several electrical and electronic technologies.
To realize the vision of IoT, devices need to develop requirement of the customers in terms of availability anywhere and anytime. So, there are several challenges in the evolution of electronics for IoT: first, electronic systems must be thin, flexible, and miniaturized; second, the implemented materials have to be recyclable in order to avoid environmental pollution; last but not least, all the hosted nodes must be autonomous, because in IoT nodes neither connected to the grid nor powered by life batteries.
A great scientific shift is going to seen by the development of IoT; autonomous systems, energy saving protocols, green materials, energy harvesting and ultralow-power circuits are concurrently mandatory.
As per McKinsey Global Institute, the number of interconnected machines has grown 300% over the last 5 years. Also, millions of IoT devices are used in India and it may be increased to billions in 2020.  IoT related products market are growing at the rate of double digits per year and as per estimations from largeIoT players,it will increase to the order of trillions of dollars in the next decade. So IoT is rapidly finding its place in our daily life, aiming to improve the quality of life of human by connecting many smart devices, technologies, and applications. Overall, the IoT would currently use by many country and it permits the automation of everything around us.In order to realize the potential of IoT growth, new technologies and innovations are needs to evolved and service applications of the IoTneeds to grow proportionally to match the market demands and needs of the consumer. It also provides opportunities for traditional equipment and appliance manufacturers to transform their product in to IoT enabled Products.
